What Are the Physical Effects of Anxiety?
You may find it easier to heal mentally and physically if you are aware of the physical symptoms of anxiety.
The last year has been pretty stressful for me, and as a result, I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety. Earlier in the year, I ended up in the hospital for umbilical hernia repair surgery. There are two types of umbilical surgery: open and Laparoscopic hernia repair. I had open surgery, which meant I had an incision on my abdomen. Of course, this is more of an invasive type of surgery and requires up to six weeks of healing.
The surgery itself was a success, and my surgeon was great. He was thoughtful and could make most of my fears disappear. He even followed up a month later to see how I was doing.
On top of that, I’m still grieving the sudden death of my sister and a cyst on my head that, when checked, contained some skin cancer, which the surgeon says was removed entirely. There is more going on, but I just wanted to share the reasons that I’m experiencing a lot of anxiety. Perhaps you can relate.
My anxiety shows up with having trouble sleeping, having a hard time concentrating, along with some major digestive issues.
