Our lives move so fast these days that I wonder how often we miss out on opportunities. How many times have we let an advantage pass us by or ones we don’t even see?

It is time to slow down and pay attention to what is available by being more aware of what is happening around us.

In many ways, we are oblivious to what happens daily. Here are some ideas for making the most of short-lived advantages.

Ways to Grab Advantages When They Happen:

1. Accept Losses. Enjoy life’s little pleasures without growing reliant on them. Recognize that everything is transient. Savor the pleasant times without expecting them to continue forever.

2. Act Swiftly. It is usually best to take time while making significant decisions, such as getting married. When the stakes are lower, take calculated risks and take advantage of daily specials before they expire.

3. Stockpile Valuables. Save up advantages that will shortly expire. Freeze the zucchini from your veggie garden and take an afternoon off work to watch your daughter’s softball match.
